SP Sport 8000 |

|
SP Sport 8000 |
|
The SP Sport
8000 is ideal for high performance sports cars and
sporty coupes. Like all summer tires, it is not intended
to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow
or on ice.
Its directional tread pattern offers all-out performance
and handling, plus quiet ride comfort. To maximize wet
handling confidence and resist hydroplaning the SP Sport
8000's wide circumferential grooves have been designed
with nearly vertical ""walls"". This square shape
maintains the tires outstanding wet road performance
right up to the final stages of treadwear. To provide
exceptional dry steering stability, the tread pattern
has extremely rigid blocks. These rigid blocks greatly
reduce tread squirm and distortion, offering a high
degree of control during hard cornering. Minimizing
irregular treadwear is also an important part of the
design of the SP Sport 8000. A common problem with wide,
low profile tires is uneven wear in the center of the
tread. This problem is caused by unnecessary distortion
of the tire's center and uneven contact pressure. The SP
Sport 8000 features a tread surface formed around three
continuous radii, so even contact pressure is obtained
when the tread is fully loaded. Each size has been
individually tuned for long, even treadwear.
