Exclaim UHP |
|
|
|

|
The Exclaim
UHP is General Tire's Ultra High Performance Summer
tire that was developed for the drivers of sports cars,
coupes and sedans. While meeting minimum tread design
standards to be ""M+S"" branded, the Exclaim UHP is
designed to provide high levels of traction, response
and control in dry conditions, along with superior
hydroplaning resistance in wet conditions. We do not
suggest Exclaim UHP tires be driven in near-freezing
temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Exclaim UHP uses a 2nd generation, ultra high
performance silica compound molded into a directional
tread design that features wide, solid shoulder tread
blocks and a high-tech contour to combine responsive
handling with dry traction. Its Double-V directional
tread pattern enhances wet performance. Together, the
tread compound and design help sweep water away from
between the tire’s contact patch and the road to improve
wet grip while reducing the possibility of hydroplaning.
The tire’s internal structure includes twin steel belts
reinforced by spirally wound jointless nylon on top of
polyester body plies to combine responsive handling and
cornering stability with high-speed durability.

Altimax RT |
|
The
AltiMAX RT (Road Touring) is General Tire's Standard
Touring All-Season tire member of their Altimax family
of flagship tires. The AltiMAX RT was developed to
address the many challenges faced by today’s coupe,
sedan, van, crossover and SUV drivers. The AltiMAX RT is
designed to combine reliability, comfort and tread life,
as well as provide year-round traction, even in light
snow.
The AltiMAX RT features a Twin Cushion Silica Tread
Compound that places a high-density all-season top
compound for year-round traction and long wear above a
low-density foundation compound that absorbs road
vibrations to provide a comfortable ride. The tread
compound is molded into a symmetric tread design
featuring sweeping, high-angle tread grooves that are
sized using sound wave suppression to reduce road noise
for a quiet ride. Twin steel belts stabilize the tread
area for good handling, while a polyester cord body
enhances ride quality.
General Tire has designed the AltiMAX RT for a variety
of vehicle applications. Due to technical reasons, tire
sizes with a section width of 185 and below feature a
center groove, while tires sizes with a section width of
195 and above feature a center rib.

Grabber UHP |

The Grabber
UHP is General Tire's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire
developed for the drivers of performance pickups, as
well as sport activity and sport utility vehicles. While
meeting the tread pattern requirements to be M+S rated
(and branded with the symbol), the Grabber UHP was
designed to emphasize traction, handling and control in
dry and wet road conditions, and is only intended to be
occasionally driven in very light snow.
The Grabber UHP uses General Tire's 2nd generation,
ultra high performance silica tread compound molded into
a directional design that features wide shoulder blocks
on top of an optimized contour to combine responsive
handling with dry traction. The V-shaped tread design
helps sweep water away from between the tire’s contact
patch and the road surface to reduce the possibility of
hydroplaning and improve wet grip. The tire’s internal
structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by
spirally wound jointless nylon on top of polyester body
plies to combine responsive handling and cornering
stability with high-speed durability.

The
AmeriTrac radial is General Tire's Highway All
Season Light Truck tire designed for pickup truck and
sport utility vehicle drivers who desire comfort and
year round versatility. The AmeriTrac radial was
developed to meet the Original Equipment needs of
vehicle manufacturers for the Chevrolet Silverado, Dodge
Ram, Ford F-150, F-250 and F-350, as well as GMC Sierra
by delivering comfort and traction in every season,
including light snow.
The AmeriTrac radial features an all-season tread rubber
compound molded into a symmetric tread pattern that uses
continuous shoulder and center ribs to enhance dry road
traction, reduce noise and promote treadlife. Then
independent intermediate tread blocks provide the biting
edges to enhance foul weather traction. On the inside,
the AmeriTrac features twin steel belts to enhance
durability along with a flexible, shock-absorbing
polyester cord sidewall to provide a secure highway
ride.

Grabber AW |

Original
Equipment (OE) All-Season tires are the prevalent tire
choice for vehicles sold in the United States. Developed
for use on new cars and light trucks, these tires
provide a versatile blend of ride quality, noise
comfort, treadwear, handling and year-round traction,
even in light snow.
While Original Equipment All-Season tires are often
repurchased as direct replacements for pairs and sets of
worn out Original Equipment tires, they can also be used
on other vehicles in axle pairs or sets of four if they
match the needed tire size, load range and speed rating
specifications, as well as the anticipated driving
conditions.
While we attempt to provide a picture of as many of
these tires as possible, the pictures used to represent
these tires cannot be guaranteed to be an exact
depiction of each tire's appearance because of the
variety of subtle differences in tread designs and
sidewall styling.

The Grabber
HTS is General Tire’s Highway All-Season light truck
tire developed for the drivers of crossover and sport
utility vehicles, as well as pickup trucks and full-size
vans. The Grabber HTS was designed to combine style,
comfort, durability and performance in a tire that
offers pleasant road manners and a long life, as well as
year-round traction, including in light snow.
The Grabber HTS features General Tire’s Eco-Ride tread
compound to improve fuel economy molded into a specially
engineered symmetric tread design featuring an enlarged
contact patch and General Tire’s Stabilink system of
connecting bars that increase circumferential stability
to enhance braking, acceleration and cornering. Response
Grooves provide directional guidance for improved
steering and Hydro Channels eject water from between the
tread and road to increase hydroplaning resistance while
three types of sipes promote traction in dry, wet and
wintry weather. The tire’s internal structure includes
twin, ultra-high tensile steel belts to provide brute
strength while an internal cushioning system isolates
the vehicle from road vibrations for a smoother ride.

Grabber AT 2 |
|
The Grabber
AT2 is General Tire's On-/Off-Road All-Terrain light
truck tire developed for pickup truck and sport utility
vehicle drivers looking for exceptional traction over
all terrrains. The Grabber AT2 is designed to combine
long wear and reliability with year-round competence on-
and off-road in dry, wet and wintry conditions.
The Grabber AT2 features a chip- and tear-resistant
tread compound molded into an aggressive, symmetric
tread design featuring five rows of independent tread
blocks to blend on-road handling with off-road traction.
The tread blocks feature multiple traction edges and
sipes, as well as are molded to accept optional metallic
studs to increase wintry weather traction. Tread block
sizes and shapes have been computer-optimized to allow
the aggressive tread pattern to remain relatively quiet
and even wearing during on-road and highway driving. The
tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts
(some sizes reinforced with nylon) on top of a two-ply
polyester cord body to combine strength and durability
with a quiet ride.
NOTE: While many of the Grabber AT2 On-/Off-Road
All-Terrain tires meet industry severe snow service
requirements and are branded with the mountain/snowflake
symbol, some do not. Specific tires/sizes not meeting
the industry's requirements are identified with a ""Not
Rated For Severe Snow"" notation on Sizes & Prices, as
well as on Specs. Grabber AT2 tires are designed to
accept optional #13 metal studs to enhance ice traction.
